The Burning Season

Burning Season could lead to different meanings.
Burning of passion, love, anger, resistance and literally burn.
Burning Season is a movie about a persons belief and principle to
save the forest and to save what is theirs.

It is about Chico Mendes standing his ground on protecting the amazon
of Brasil. It is struggle of people who have this principle versus the people who
wants only to profit from the project that is being pushed by local government official
and ranchers.

A struggle of people from people who grabs their
lands with out any permission.
A struggle to stop the massive forest burning.

I have not yet finish viewing the film
but I have already read the struggle of Chico Mendes
on defending their right.

He was assassinated to stop him from opposing the projects.
He was assassinated in the thought they could hush him up.
He was assassinated believing that no one would turn against them.
He was assassinated because he tried to protect the environment.
He was assassinated because he strongly believe in something.

His assassination did not kill his principles and ideas
It did not even kill the hope and the belief that has spurred in him.

It burned like flames.

its tiring to talk about politics
it has become a big joke already
no one believes the politicians
it gets tiring to read and hear about
politicians trying to outdo each other.

nothing has changed

everyday is getting worse
but still there is hope

there is still hope for change.

i'll never leave.
